It was such an honour to be one of the photographers of this amazing project (together with the very talented Elena Pavlova). Whenever High Emotion Weddings

plans a wedding or styled shoot, they do it in style and I know it`s going to be amazing! This team of creatives gathered from all over Europe to create this gorgeous styled shoot, inspired by "Sleeping Beauty".

Bran Castle, located in Transylvania, has such a huge potential for creating astonishing setups- it`s a place filled with fairytales & history. Also known as Dracula`s castle, it has potential far beyond vampire myths, as does all of Transylvania. I cannot stress this enough - unlike in Hollywood movies, Transylvania is a place of enormous beauty, light, color & kind people. Yes, we have days when the rainy weather creates this moody atmosphere- but only in late autumn and the beginning of spring. You see landscapes & places you fall in love with right away.

Back to Bran Castle- instead of vampire myths, I`d rather tell you a different story. One of my favourite feminine historical figures is Queen Mary of Romania- Queen Victoria`s grandniece, a strong & passionate woman who played an important role in Romania`s history. Although she was of foreign origin, she was beloved by her people- she was relentless & devoted, always serving her country. In times when feminism hardly existed (the beginning of the 20th century), she had the courage to speak her truth- she convinced her husband & the politicians to join World War I on United Kingdom`s behalf instead of Germany`s- thus making the union of the Romanian principalities possible after the war was over. During the war she worked as a nurse, taking care of injured soldiers... I could write pages and pages about this amazing woman, but what is her connection to Bran castle? Well, this was her favourite castle (togeteher with Balcic Castle which is now in Bulgaria). Here`s what she said about the castle: ""Bran meant a new field of work, the call to life of a new dream of beauty. With the help of a reliable old architect, as lively as I was, I began to give life to the dead walls, to give life to the old city that had never really lived. I woke her from a long sleep- I turned her from a blind man into a home with many eyes on the world."
